In recent years I have spent time in Buddhist monasteries, practising meditation, studying the ideas of Buddha, who is cropping up more and more in my drawings. Just as I reject most of Christianity, I reject most of Buddhism, but I am aware of the Buddha's original ideas in every waking moment. Here, my favourite animal, the mongoose, finds the Buddha under a tree and seems to be asking: 'What's it all about, mister?'. I doubt the mongoose took it all in, so maybe his latest reincarnation is out there - maybe it's you! |
