This linocut was conceived, drawn and cut during the actual total eclipse of the sun on August 11 1999 in the Tirol. The twenty minutes of the eclipse were the most magical I have spent in Tirol, but the farmer in the picture takes no notice of it. For him nothing is so important, no cosmic or human event, as getting his work done.
