We see here the morning after the great hurricane of 1987. All was still, no whir of electricity. The two homeless rooks and the grieving man have something to share. It is illegal to throw stones at a rook within twenty miles of London. But human laws or rookly wishes had, and have, no power if the wind wants to blow their world over. |
